Obituary of Diana Hanne Ortuno

Diana Hanne Ortuno went home with the Lord on Wednesday, August 27th, 2014. Diana was born on February 9, 1943 in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1982 Diana immigrated to the United States with her husband, Juan, and their three children. For the past 13 years Diana worked for Lutheran Social Services in the Conejo Valley managing their Emergency Services and Meal & Shelter Programs. Diana’s happiness came from being able to help those in the community that needed a hot meal, a place to stay on a cold night, or helping a struggling family with gifts for their children at Christmas. After Diana raised her own three children she became “Mom” to many of those she worked with through the homeless services program. Diana was predeceased by her husband, Juan Ortuno, and is survived by her much loved children, Benny Ortuno, Danny Ortuno, and Linda Bianchi, her daughter-in-law, Angela Ortuno, and son-in-law, Brian Bianchi. Diana leaves behind three beautiful grandchildren, Samantha, Skyla and Slade, who meant everything to her. A memorial service will be held in celebration of Diana on Wednesday, September 10th and 1:00 in the afternoon at Ascension Lutheran Church, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360. In lieu of flowers Diana’s family requests that donations be made in her name to LSS Community Care Center of Ventura County, Homeless Services Program, at www.LSScommunitycare.org
