Obituary of Jill Leslie Scrudato

Please share a memory of Jill to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jill Leslie Scrudato of Simi Valley, CA, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on October 24th at the age of 62. She was born August 25th, 1952 to Harry Glenn Saffer and Betty Saffer. She was raised in Studio City, CA but moved in her senior year and graduated from Granada High School in 1970. She graduated with a B.A. from the California State University, Northridge. In 1974, she married Jim Scrudato and enjoyed a long marriage during which she gave birth to two sons, Dominic James and Vincent Anthony. Following a divorce, Jill, met Doug Feco in 1999 and they developed an almost 16 year loving relationship as life partners. Jill worked in the banking industry for 10 years, most of that time as the customer service manager at First Interstate Bank, then Santa Barbara Bank and Trust. Following a 4-year stint in the automotive equipment field as a marketing assistant for Ultratek Automotive Equipment Co., Jill moved into office management serving in several capacities – bookkeeper, office manager, general accounting manager and controller for various companies over a 9-year period. Jill finally focused in on her Arbonne International business as an independent consultant and District Manager later in her life. She fought a valiant 21/2 year battle against Carcinoid Cancer before finally succumbing to the disease. During her battle against cancer, she became passionate in rescuing dogs, especially Australian Cattle Dogs from high kill animal shelters and successfully placed several dogs of various breeds in loving homes. She especially loved her own 4-year old Australian Cattle dogs, River and Rio plus the first cattle dog she previously had, Pepper. Jill was a water girl. She loved the lake at her former lake house with her family and she loved the ocean. She was a proficient scuba diver and diving with the turtles was truly the dive she loved best. Jill had a love of life and touched many people with her warm and caring heart. Jill is survived by her loving fiancée, Doug Feco and their combined families including Jill’s sons, Dominic Scrudato (fiancée Jami Marmalejo) and Vincent Scrudato (fiancée Ashley Armandariz), Doug’s children, Lisa Marie Lefton (husband Michael Lefton) and Brandon Feco, and grandchildren, Jaden Scrudato, Jase Scrudato, Jagger Scrudato, Braxton Lefton, Baylee Lefton, Brooklyn Lefton and Kennedy Feco. Jill was predeceased by her parents, Glenn and Betty Elise Saffer. She will truly be missed by her family and friends but we are comforted knowing that she is at peace and with God. We love you.
