Obituary of Bert Wyatt Chappell

Please share a memory of Bert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bert Wyatt Chappell Born: July 24, 1948 in Oceanside, CA Died: April 10, 2014 in Thousand Oaks, CA Children: Stefanie, Ryan, Sara, Matthew “The Adventure Continues!" Dad loved being an Institutional Stock Trader, something he was brilliant at. He was known among his colleagues as Mr. Big, and he lived that in everything he did. Dad was larger than life, and his motto was “If you’re gonna be a bear, be a grizzly!” He always encouraged us to dream big and he believed that we could do anything we set our hearts to. Dad loved to travel the world, and he visited more countries than we could ever count. Dad’s greatest joy, though, was his children. He always surprised us with his generosity and his great sense of humor. We are truly grateful to have not only known him, but to have had him as our father. We found this quote and thought it fit Dad so very well: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, “Woo Hoo…What a ride!”” That’s our father! If you would like to donate in lieu of flowers, we would love it if you would consider giving toward curing ALS, on behalf of Dad’s mom…lovingly known as Grandma Goose.
