Marvin O. Ivie left this world on his 78th birthday, February 20, 2011. He was the youngest child of Curtis and Virginia Ivie of Texas. He lived in Ojai for 43 years, coming from Northern California. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and he was employed by State Workers Compensation Fund for many years. Marv was an avid supporter of Nordhoff High School football teams having season tickets for over 30 years. He also supported and attended the girls basketball and volleyball games for many years, recently adding Villanova girls basketball and volleyball to support his adopted granddaughter, Natalie Miotti. He loved watching all sporting events but only participated in golf, mostly at Soule Park in Ojai. He was an avid traveler taking more than 25 cruises traveling the USA and UK. He never met an argument he couldn't pick a side for and always won (or so he would tell you). He is survived by his brother's Frank, Owen and Merle Ivie, sons; Robert, Doug and James Evans, daughter Alaire Hayes, grandchildren; Crystal and Erik Ivie, Andrew, CJ and Melissa Hayes, Caleb, Joshua and Hayley Evans, great-grandchildren; Nathan and Riley Hayes and Aschlie Mint as well as numerous nieces and nephews that he regularly stayed in contact with. Lastly he is survived and will be greatly missed by his adopted family Robert and Anne Miotti and their children. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife, Lucille Ivie, his brother, Curtis Ivie, sister Geraldine Audish, grandson, Randall Hayes, Jr. and his beloved sister-in-law Swanie Ivie. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Community Memorial Hospital NICU in memory of his beloved Lucille. Memorial services will be held at the Ojai Church of Christ on Montgomery Street on Monday March 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. Assisting the family with funeral arrangements is the family owned and operated Rose Family Funeral Home.
