Bonnie Bell Deas Short, 87, of Simi Valley, CA, passed away peacefully on July 20th, 2015 after suffering a recent stroke and a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Her graveside service will be held at the Simi Valley Public Cemetery on Thursday July 23rd, 2015 at 1:30 P.M. with Reverend Carole Boersma officiating. Rose Family Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements. Bonnie was born in Natchez Mississippi to William Henry Deas and Alma Mae Renfrow on Feb 27th, 1928. She was an amazing mother, sister, grandmother, great­grandmother and friend. Very talented and resourceful there wasn’t much she didn’t tackle like building her own Gazebo and fixing the brakes on her own car. She also enjoyed many activities including sewing, gardening and quilting. Bonnie was a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was baptized in 1941. Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Jean Anderson (Norm), of Pleasant View, UT. Denise Williams (David) of Santa Ana, CA. Wendy Hill (Chuck) of Valencia, CA. Her grandchildren, Eric Swanson, Michelle Johnson, Derek Wedgeworth, Damian Skoczylas, Kara Hill, Charles Hill and Faith Hill. Great granddaughters, Rya Johnson, Lyla Johnson and Sloane Johnson. Her brothers, Dudley Deas and Robert Willis. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Claud Deas, Cleveland Deas, Edward Deas, Frances Deas Ouellette, Mary Jane Deas Wagoner, Winston “Buddy” Deas, Dorothy Willis Francis, Isaac Willis and Danny Willis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (ALZ.ORG ).
