Obituary of Mary Elizabeth (Vedra) Falat

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Beloved Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandma, and Great Grandma. Loved and cherished by many, Mary Elizabeth (Vedra) Falat, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 4, 2015~ She was 90 years young! Mary was born the daughter of Anton and Caroline Vedra on May 10, 1925, in Wausaukee, Wisconsin. She was one of 10 children, and is survived by her younger brothers George and Gerald Vedra. Mary was married to Max Falat, her high school sweetheart on July 6, 1946. Max and Mary gave birth to 6 children, Sherry, Mary Kay (dec’d) Eileen, Ronald, Christopher (dec’d) and Caroline. Mary had 9 grandchildren and was great grandma to thirteen kiddos! Mary loved to travel, so together with Max she visited much of the United States, parts of Canada, Europe, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the Panama Canal. Upon arrival she would always ask where the closest Catholic church was located and what time they had Sunday Mass. Together with her husband she farmed the land in Wisconsin. They moved to Canoga Park, California in 1959 to start up several new business ventures. She was a woman with a strong work ethic, and gave many years of service to the retail and financial industries, with a career in uniform sales and banking. Their most recent home was in Simi Valley, which allowed Mary to be close to many of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary will be missed, but her memory will forever live in the hearts and minds of family and friends.
