Terry graduated from St. Andrew High School and attended Pasadena City College prior to entering the Sisters of Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. After leaving the order, Terry met and married James C. Monroe. The family moved to Northern California in 1970, settling in Stockton in 1972. Terry raised her family as a single mother and lived in Stockton for 33 years before moving to Northfield, Minnesota in 2005. She returned to Southern California in 2013. Terry worked for most of her career as a legal secretary and assistant. She spent many years at California Rural Legal Assistance, advocating on behalf of clients who would otherwise suffer from poor or no legal representation. She leaves behind many special friends and acquaintances in California and Minnesota who brought her great joy. The family is holding a private mass St. Mel Catholic Church in Woodland Hills, California.
