Leandra M. Koszarek, 27, of California, formerly of Antigo, passed away on June 10, 2016 in Santa Clarita, Ca. Her life was taken prematurely by accidental drowning. She was born in Wausau on April 25, 1989 to Merri-Ann (Kerstetter) Fleischman (Antigo) and Kevin P. Koszarek (Spartanburg, SC). She was also a (step) daughter to Michael D. Fleischman and Laurie (Nunn) Koszarek. She graduated from Antigo High School in 2007. She attended UW Stevens Point, UW Milwaukee and received a liberal arts degree from Madison Area Technical College in 2011. She lived her short life to the fullest. She loved to travel and wanted to see and experience everything this world has to offer. She was fearless and determined. She enjoyed yoga and traveled to music festivals and concerts throughout the country where she touched the lives of so many. With the help of her special friend, David Smart (Waub) she moved to California in October 2013. She was especially fond of Santa Cruz beach. In 2015 she fulfilled her dream of seeing Thailand, making the trip alone being the determined free spirit that she was. From a young girl she saw the beauty of the little things and loved her family, singing with Grandma Judy and having to bless all her family members in those songs. She was an animal lover, grooming the donkeys and playing with her dogs. She loved helping Grandma Linda with her fair flowers. She took many fun trips to visit her Dad in the semi with Uncle Jim, Uncle Dan and Johnny ‘Marshmallow’. She liked to fish with Mike and her Dad & Curt. Her creativity blossomed later through the clothing and items that she made. She left an impression on everyone she met with her beautiful spirit. Survivors in addition to her parents and step parents include her grandparents, Judy and Ron Korn and Linda and Conrad Fleischman, great grandmother Lorraine Fleischman, step sister Amanda Fleischman, special cousin Kim Fleischman, special aunts Mary Koszarek and Cindy (Dan) Schafer, all of Antigo, step sister Sarah Koszarek Vukajlovic (Dusan) of Spartanburg, SC, step brother Nathan Clark of Spartanburg, SC, brother Dan, special friend Cassandra Perez of Shawano, uncles Ken (Lisa) Kerstetter of Gilbert AZ, and David (Ellie) Kerstetter of Louisville, KY, Rod Fleischman of Antigo, Rick (Cindy) Koszarek of Wausau, other aunts Margie (Dewain) Reimer, Ann (Don) Walters, Lois (Gene) Gordy, Pat (Jim) Spencer, Becky (Bill) Spencer, Carol Hauch, Stacy (Rick) Trzebiatowski, all of Antigo, in addition many, many loving cousins, relatives and friends. No services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. The family would like to give special thanks to the hospital staff at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital for their exceptional and compassionate care of Leandra. Additionally, the help and support from OneLegacy Donor Organization, especially Cesar Escobar who was phenomenal in enabling Leandra to live on not only in our hearts but also through organ donation. Rose Family Funeral and Cremation of Simi Valley, CA is assisting the family. Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer. My daughter: I imagine you dancing, skipping amongst the clouds, happily singing with the angels, looking down upon the crowds. I imagine you laughing, your heart lovingly set free, you understand my grief, in ways I cannot see. I imagine you greeting the others that I love that sadly left this earth for a home with you above. I imagine you watching the many things I do, proudly standing beside me as I remember and honor you. All these visions give me hope that death is not the end, that eternity awaits us. That together we will spend.
