Obituary of Karin Elizabeth Schad

Please share a memory of Karin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Karin passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her family at home following a brave, hard fought battle with cancer. She immigrated from Germany in 1965 and is predeceased in death by both parents Regina and Christina Bongartz. Karin is survived by her loving husband Klaus, daughter Petra, son in law Garry, grandson Austin, sisters Edith and Ilka, nieces Susanne and Carmen and nephew Herby. Karin was a kind, nurturing, generous in nature and always up for fun. She enjoyed socializing with her friends, always up for a good game of Bunko, shopping, painting or just getting together for coffee and cake. Also, an avid wine drinker, she enjoyed many trips to local wineries with Klaus, Petra and family to relax in the sunshine of the winery with a good glass of Riesling. She especially enjoyed traveling back to her homeland to imbibe on the best wines from the region in which she grew up along the Mosel and of course to visit family. Karin was also a very dedicated, loyal and hardworking woman. She and Klaus had just celebrated 52 years of marriage. She cherished her family deeply and was the best Oma ever. She was also employed by Simi Valley Hospital for 39 years and well liked by her coworkers. Karin was loved by all that she came in contact with.

MAY YOU ALWAYS WALK IN SUNSHINE
May you always walk in sunshine and God's love around you flow,
for the happiness you gave us, no one will ever know.
It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone,
a part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
A million times we needed you, a million times we've cried.
If love could only have saved you, you never would have died.
The Lord be with you and may you rest in peace.
