Christopher Lombard of Simi Valley, California died as a result of injuries received while assisting an auto accident which occurred around 4:10am Saturday, July 29, 2017. Mr. Lombard died as he lived A Good Samaritan and a hero. He loved and was dedicated to God, his family, and his employer, and nothing brought him more joy than helping others.
 
CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE for Mr. Lombard will be as follows:
 
Date: Saturday, August 5, 2017 
Place: Rose Family Funeral Home and Cremation, 4444 Cochran St, Simi Valley, CA 93063
Public viewing: 2:00pm – 4:00pm 
Celebration of life service: 4:00pm in the chapel (casual attire – Hawaiian preferred)
Reception to follow: At location

Anyone who would like to share a memory will be invited to do so.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Dorothy Martin of Los Angeles, California and brother Craig Martin of Reseda, California
 
Chris was born on May 13, 1954, in Hollywood, California to Ruth Dorothy MacRobertson of Hollywood, California, who immigrated from Melbourne Australia to the United States as a war bride. He graduated from Hollywood High School in 1972 and began working for C.R. Laurence Co. in Vernon, California where he remained for over 44 years until his untimely death Saturday, July 29, 2017, on his way to work. Chris always told people he loved his job, mainly due to his employer and mentor, Mr. Donald Friese.
 
On September 12, 1980 Chris met the love of his life when he met and later married his wife Joyce. They married on April 25, 1981. The two were best friends who loved to joke around with one another all the time. This union produced the most important people in his life. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lombard of Simi Valley; his five children: son, Mr. Bobby Lombard and wife Mrs. Lupita Lombard of Douglasville, Georgia; daughter, Mrs. Robin Olguin and husband Mr. Tom Olguin of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter, Mrs. Christie Abney and husband Mr. Robert Abney of Simi Valley, California; son Mr. Joseph Lombard of Simi Valley, California; son Mr. Zachary Lombard, of Simi Valley, California.
 
Chris is also survived by eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. granddaughter, Mrs. Yahaira Fragozo of Douglasville, Georgia; grandson, Mr. William Lombard of Simi Valley, California; granddaughter, Ms. Carmen Lombard of Douglasville, Georgia; granddaughter, Ms. Kimberly Lombard of Douglasville, Georgia; grandson, Mr. Jesse Olguin of Phoenix, Arizona; Mr. Gabriel Olguin of Phoenix, Arizona; granddaughter, Ms. Liliana Olguin of Phoenix, Arizona; and Ms. Grace Abney of Simi Valley, California; as well as two great grandchildren: Mr. Andres Fragozo and Ms. Andrea Fragozo of Douglasville, Georgia.
 
Chris will be missed by so many but we rest in the assurance of God’s word that he is now in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, his mother, and someone he admired, Joyce’s mother, Ms. Dora Mae Quarles, of Douglasville, Georgia.
His family is committed to honoring his legacy by sharing love, kindness, and laughter to all.
