Obituary of Vera Sorrels
Vera May Sorrels was born in Ventura to Otto and Gertrude Hardy on July 9th, 1937.
Vera passed away at home peacefully in her sleep on Sunday February 28th, 2021.
In 1955 she married Olten William Sorrels the love of her life.
She was a bookkeeper for a Strawberry Packing Company in Oxnard while raising her family in Ventura. In the summer on 1976 they moved to Moorpark where they raised farm animals and later, she became active at the Senior Center teaching line dancing.
She is preceded in death by her husband “Bill” as he was known and her oldest daughter Mandy Lora.
She is survived by her middle daughter Micky Leigh and son-in-law Bruce Leidle, her youngest daughter Lori Marcel and her male companion William Alan Castleberry, her sister Ruth Mathis, along with a niece 2 nephews, and last but not least the family felines Phoebe Louise and Gypsy Rose.
Vera was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Due to COVID-19 there will be no service, just a small gathering of the family.
