I worked at the McDonald’s corporation in the 80s and so loved Mary! I’ll always treasure the delicate tree of lemon drop candies which she created for my wedding shower. She used the words, “May your troubles melt like lemon drops” regarding our marriage… which currently is headed toward the 38-year mark this September! She was always smiling and encouraging to everyone! I’m so sorry for your loss…and hope you read this even after several years since her passing. God bless.

I’m very sorry to just learn of Mary’s passing. She was always a wonderful, kind, and caring person. She was a very good customer of mine at Pavilions in Thousand Oaks. Mary was someone who always remembered me on my birthday and Christmas. We even kept in touch after my retirement. Again, I’m very sorry for your loss. With love, Sharon Stroehlen

Diran, Donna, Christina and Ryan, Mary was truly a giant within the McDonald’s family and story. From her early days with Ray in building the business to the many years that followed where she identified, developed and mentored talent at every level of the organization. She modeled empathy and kindness before it was a “thing” and consistently enabled leaders to do their best work. She knew there was a right way to get results and we all learned to be better as a result. She was fierce about results and compassionate with people. Mary had that unique ability to make everyone feel special. I suspect she has more best friends than most. After transferring to Los Angeles in the 80’s and not knowing a soul there, Mary and your Grandma always made me feel like family. In every conversation we always spoke of Diran and his adventures, then Donna and Diran, and finally her beloved Grandchildren Christina and Ryan. You were her heart. I loved Mary and will miss her forever. I wish you love and peace.
