In loving memory of Ron, friend, and neighbor.
I was very sad to learn of Ron's passing. When I think back on my years growing up on Greensward Street, Ron's presence is very clear. Ron was always very warm, kind and generous. From letting us use their pool, to going on vacations, and to being there for my mom and us three girls after my dad unexpectedly died. He was always there for you during the good times and the bad times, without question. He was the type of person that took an interest in you and when your paths would cross he genuinely wanted to know what you had been up to and how you had been. I can still hear his voice asking me those questions and see his wonderful smile that actually made his eyes brighten. You couldn't help but smile back. I unfortunately, did not have the opportunity to speak with Ron prior to his passing however, it warmed my heart to hear that he always considered the "Juve Girls" like daughters. How special that made me feel and how kind of him to say, I will be forever grateful to have known such an incredible person and that I have great memories to keep forever. My thoughts, prayers, and love go out to Carol and the entire family.

Memories of Ron Walden; neighbor, friend, mentor.
I’m really sad to hear of Ron’s passing. My family met Ron and Carol when we moved in across the street on Greensward in the late 70’s. Our families quickly became friends. Ron and my dad developed a friendly routine of Sunday trips to the gym, and the Walden’s and Juve’s shared dinners, pool parties, babysitting Steve, holidays, and birthdays. Over the years my sisters and I enjoyed skiing in our favorite yellow ski boat, trips to Vegas and Mammoth, and motor cycle riding with Jeff and Todd – all organized by Ron. And he wasn’t just a friend, he was a great support to our family, first when he found a solid opportunity for my dad who was looking to leave Teledyne in El Segundo for a job closer to home. Ron helped land my dad a great position with Litton in nearby Westlake cutting an hour commute to just 15 minutes allowing us precious additional time with our dad before his unexpected death in 1981. During that difficult time, Ron was a rock for my mom who was left with 3 teenagers in the big house across the street. Knowing he was nearby and ready to help in any way was also a comfort me and my sisters. When my mom sold the house and learned that her new home in Wood Ranch wasn’t ready, the Walden’s quickly set up their great room where my mom settled in temporarily as part of the family. Ron and Carol remained as family to my mom and us through graduations, marriages, baby showers, and births. And when my mom became ill, they were there for her with frequent visits and support. After her death, they made it clear that they were still there for my sisters and our families. Shortly before Ron’s passing, I was fortunate to have spoken with him on the phone. He was in the hospital and told me his situation was grim. He said he hoped to see “the Juve girls” soon and said he always thought of us as daughters. I was extremely touched by his heartwarming comments and am eternally grateful I was able to tell him how much he meant to our family. Now, with Ron gone, I and my sisters will be forever grateful to the wonderful memories he helped build and we will be there for Carol.
My condolences to Carol and the entire family. In loving memory of Ron, Karen Juve Jaich
