When I think of my Mother, the most prominent memory is of her beautiful singing voice and piano playing. What a blessing her musicality was and it facilitated a special bond between us. Next, I visualize the gorgeous flowers and plants that she so passionately cared for. But the most valuable memory is that of her faith in Christ, demonstrated by her love for others and her kindness, generousity and encouraging words. She expressed this best through little notes, cards or gifts. One such note read, “Your house will be beautiful,” which she left on my refrigerator when I was feeling discouraged over a terrible house purchase. It was also not uncommon for my Mother to plant a little pansy in my front yard while I was at work to brighten my day when I got home. Mom, I miss you very much, yet my heart rejoices knowing that through Christ someday I will see you again.

I am sorry to hear about Gretchen's passing. What a sweet and precious lady she was. I remember her from Rocky Peak. Blessings to the family.

It is a sad moment. I just saw this on Facebook. I cannot tell you what a great pleasure it was to know Gretchen and grow up with there family and the 3 girls. Gretchen made sure that all three of you would go see Mr. Kent for your hair. Words cannot properly express the gratitude I feel right now for knowing your mother. What a doll and always the optimist when she was in my chair. It was always back in those days about her girls. I really regret right now not staying in touch with her the way I shouild of when I would come back and visit the area from time to time ( I moved to Phoenix) Thanks for the memories girls..... I will never forget your mother. She made all of us better in the shop by her presence So happy the four of you touch my life. There is a special place in heaven for her. Kent

Mom was the most gracious lady ~ always opened her home to family, friends, church members, etc. There was always a seat at the table for unexpected visitors. She was a musical talent in voice and piano and used this talent for the Lord, singing and playing for church joyfully. I thank her for inspiring me to love the piano. Mom was always thinking of others and you can be sure that if you had a problem or were hurting in any way, you were in her thoughts and prayers. I will miss her surprise visits at work, just to bring me a vase of her beautiful and wonderfully fragrant home grown roses......little gestures to show how much she cared. I have lost my biggest fan and I will miss her greatly, every day for the rest of my life.
