Beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, artist and professional engineer, passed away at the age of 87 on August 3rd 2015. Dan was born to Fred Daniel Gealy and Mildred Reader Gealy on June 22nd, 1928 in Tokyo, Japan, and married his wife Carroll Grayson Gealy on June 9th, 1951. He is predeceased by his parents and brother Bill Gealy, his grandson Max, and survived by his superhero wife of 64 years, Carroll, his brother John Gealy, his three children, Becky, Dan (Cathy), and Grant (Beverly), and his grandchildren Christine (Cole England), Daniel, Alax, Grant and Jett. He received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Methodist University, and his Masters in Business Administration from Northwestern University. He was a member of the Westlake United Methodist Church, the Petroleum Engineer’s Association, and the Oxnard Gem and Mineral Society. Generous and charitable, he acted as a scout leader, teacher, and volunteered with Mended Hearts, and at the local hospital. Inquisitive and creative in all the arts, he excelled at photography, pottery, painting, woodworking, metalworking, lapidary, jewelry making, and music. Always on point with a joke, limerick, or story, he reminds us to always find the humor and joy in life. He has deeply impacted our lives in many wonderful and incalculable ways. We love him dearly and will miss him always. Memorial service will be held at Westlake Village United Methodist Church, Saturday August 8th, at 1:00pm. Please send donations to either the Westlake Village United Methodist Church, or the Alzheimer’s Association at the attention of Carroll Gealy and the Rose Family Funeral Home.
