Obituary of Katherine Victoria Lents

Please share a memory of Katherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Katherine Victoria Ramsey Lents, 46, passed from this life on July 25, 2016 at the Henry Mayo Hospital in Newhall, Ca. due to medical complications from health issues she had battled most of her life. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Michael Lents, and their two children, Alexandria and Aaron. Katherine, known to all as Kathy, was born to Edward and Terry Marie Ramsey in Granada Hills, California on November 6, 1969. From the time she was born she was on a Family run Christmas Tree lot or fruit stand. She graduated from Hart High School in 1987. She then went on to Rittners School of Floral Design where she had a knack for beautiful floral arrangements. She worked for Vons Supermarket for 13 years where she met her husband, Mike. Moving on to the role of wife and mother, she kept her floral skills sharp by frequently creating beautiful arrangements for special occasions for her many friends and family. Kathy had many “loves” in her life; at the very top of the list was her family. And with her family she thoroughly enjoyed boating on the Colorado River in Arizona where she called her, “Paradise”. But what was her paradise, her paradise was sitting on the little beach she found with her husband on their yearly anniversary trip. However she loved everywhere she went from the beauty and serenity of Tahoe, the silence of the desert, or just the simple openness of their home in Acton. She truly enjoyed people- making new friends, long visits with old friends, and any casual acquaintance that was willing to strike up a conversation with her. Kathy was simply a “people person.” Animals of any sort, but particularly the multiple dogs and cats the family gathered throughout the years, gave her great joy. She enjoyed cooking, but perhaps more so enjoyed watching others enjoy her cooking. She also enjoyed decorating the family abode with a simplicity that reminded us that the finer things in life need not cost a lot. She was a good, honest, simple person with a heart of gold. Anyone that knew Kathy can attest that she was always filled with a joy for life. She enjoyed the smile on anyone’s face as much as anything of beauty or delight might be enjoyed by anyone else. As she often struggled with physical ailments that battled to hold her down, her positivity, her sweet demeanor, and her desire to make others feel well and happy was a beacon of her love of life, and those things around her. If she had a battle cry to lead the rest of us through the difficulties of life that we all face every day, it was a simple one- “Smile”. We will all surely will miss yours, but will do all we can to carry on your love, and your smile. Thank you for spending the time you had with us. “Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood.” Ralph Waldo Emerson Please come to our house and celebrate Kathy's life on August 6th, 2016 from 11am to 4pm.
