I knew Deborah through activities of Buenaventura ArtAssociation, Ventura. We served on the Board together, were in the Collage Lab, worked receptions. She participated, along with her husband Dan doing what needed to be done This was all a trek from Ventura which she took on without fanfare. Most memorable, and illustrating who Deborah was, was a recent trip to the Getty with a mutual art friend. Her Art Docent privileges about parking, entry, and exhibit entries were generously shared from the heart. I've seen her live out personal traits of generosity, confidence, commitment, friendship. And ever curious, she explored many art media with courage and skill. This woman will be missed, yet her spirit lives on and challenges us to live our personal best. Deep condolences to her husband Dan, daughter Lorna, and extended family.

My heart felt condolences to you, Lorna and Danny. Deb was a wonderful neighbor and friend when I lived next door. I was very young and a fairly new mom when we moved next door- Jeff was about 9 months old and I believe that Lorna was four. We would visit each other- sometimes in the home and sometimes over the fence. Although we lost touch after I moved from Simi, I am so glad I stopped by one evening last summer. Danny was sick and sleeping so Deb stepped outside and visited with my sister and me. I will always remember her with great fondness!

Deborah was a shining light in our small group of collage artists. She was also a force to reckon with as a board member with the Buenaventura Art Association. We cherish her memory, and will miss her laughter and kindness, but also her great energy and determination. We are still in shock at her passing, and send our deepest condolences to her family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Deborah and I have been blog and FB friends for many years. We had a love of food in common. We often kidded about some special Southern California restaurants we loved in common including Surfas. She came to one of my BBQ competitions at Santa Anita in 2015 bringing me very good luck. I will miss reading her posts on their travels and seeing what art project was working on.
