Of the 25 million veterans currently alive, nearly three of every four served during a war or an official period of hostility. About a quarter of the nation's population -- approximately 70 million people -- are potentially eligible for VA benefits and services because they are veterans, family members, or survivors of veterans.
For surviving spouses and dependents of veterans, to provide benefits information and assistance to eligible survivors and dependents of veterans who honorably fought and served in our Nation's wars and armed forces.
Social Security Benefits
The Social Security Administration's Web site provides information about Retirement, Survivors and Disability Insurance Benefits, and Supplemental Security Income.
The Los Angeles County Coroner website has multiple resources for families, including decedent look-up, FAQs, and quick links. It is helpful for anyone who's loved one was taken into their custody prior to being released into our care.
The Ventura County Medical Examiner's website has helpful information for the family of those decedents who were taken into the care of the VCME prior to our involvement.
