Wavel Reese Frisinger, 93, was born in Mercer County Ohio in 1919. He spent his formidable years growing up in the Cleveland area. After graduating from State High School in 1939, he found work. He was drafted into the army and served in WWII from 1941 to 1945 stationed in England, Italy, and North Africa where he received service commendation medals. After he returned home, he settled with his brother in Los Angeles, CA and found employment working for the IRS. It was at work where he met his future wife, the former Helen Schultz, also of Ohio. They were married April 30, 1948 and remained in California. Wavel, always known as "Fry", and Helen had 2 children, Frederick Wavel Frisinger, 64, of Camarillo, CA and Mary Jo Jenkins, 54, of Thousand Oaks, CA. Wavel worked nearly 30 years for Lockheed Aircraft working on projects such as the SR71 and the L1011. Wavel was close to his daughter Mary Jo, who managed his overall care needs. Wavel was blessed with the tender help of his care givers Robbie and Zenaida in his final year of life. Wavel passed peacefully of declining health with his family beside him on January 28, 2013 at 6:30 pm. He leaves his son, daughter and son-in-law Mark Jenkins, and nephews Don and Jack Frisinger and their families of Michigan.
