Ron Dugar made people's lives better. It was Ron who made the Senior Softball League what it is today. When I joined the League 18 years ago, it was just starting -- with only a few teams and a limited number of players. But Ron was devoted to the League. He used to call it his "baby."
Ron worked tirelessly to build up the League, working hand-in-hand with others from the Sports Office, including David Gadelha. Through Ron's work, the League is now formidable -- with at least 16 teams and 180 or more players.
More importantly, we all have made some very special friendships in the League. Many teammates have become close personal friends. They are people we never would have met were it not for Ron Dugar.
May his beautiful soul rest in peace.

The Dugar Family,
We are so sorry to hear about the unexpected passing of Ron Dugar, it truly was a pleasure getting to know him. He was such a wonderful man that was so joyful and gracious, he always seemed to have a smile on his face. It was obvious how much he loved all of you in his family, he was so proud of each and every one of you and that was very apparent to all of us every time that we have had contact with him. We are praying for your family and we will miss having the pleasure of getting to see him around town and at your house as well. We love you guys and are here for you as well, please let us know if there is any way that we can be of assistance. XOXO to each and every one of you ❤️...
God Bless You Guys,
The Bower Family (Proverbs 3:15-16)

Ron was one of the nicest people I have ever met. I still remember, about 25 years ago, his wife, Dee one of my dearest friends for over 30 years, invited me to a baseball game, where Ron was umpiring and introduced me to Tony Danza.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dearest Dugar Family
We are very sad to hear about the passing of Ron. He was such a cheerful person. We loved how devoted he was to his Religion and to his family. We remember how his face was always so happy when he was watching his grandchildren on the softball fields. He was so proud. Spending time with him at Ron and Veronica’s home for get togethers and partys was always such a pleasure. He always made a point to say hello and chat with us. His kindness and appreciation for his family and others was so apparent.
He will be missed missed. May the memories of all the times shared help you through this difficult time.
Much Love,
JC, Pilar and Girls Velasquez ❤️

In 2006, Ron was the one who supported women umpires. I was the only constant one for 14 yrs. now, and I've enjoyed immensely. He gave me a chance when other cities didn't want women. I did a great job because of his teachings.
I brought a few women friends in, but they didn't last.
Ron was a great teacher and ran the leagues with professionalism.
He will be missed.
