We just watched the video with our son and daughter-in-law Frank and Keri Gheller. It was wonderful. Brought back so many memories of our cousins in the Town of Oma. God bless you and your family.

Although Jerry was under our care for a short while, we will always remember him as a strong willed character. He always knew what he wanted and was an interesting conversationalist. Our hearts go out to him and his family.

Among the many years that elder Jerry (and Rosemary) provided grounding stability for all of us who created this Indian Meadows neighborhood thirty plus years ago, I recall two brief moments that illustrate his neighboring care and leadership: On the morning of the devastating earthquake while my immediate neighbors Marv and Jim were prying my front door open and shutting off the gas to the house, Jerry pulled up into the middle of Placerita Drive parking his oversized van created a comfortable safe, environment for the neighborhood children away from the aftershocks our houses were experiencing-- the picture of his care remains indelibly in my mind;
On a brighter occasion note, after exercising all the options I could beg, borrow and steal to clear years of attic occupation by noisy squirrels, Jerry happened to restate the satisfaction he experienced putting a large fan in the hallway below his attic that reduced his A/C expenses in warm weather. After ignoring my own installation (same house design) for years, when I finally followed his lead and installed my own it not only cools the house in the summer, increases a breeze upstairs at night when we sleep but squirrels don't like the noise (gone).Tx Jerry

We are so sad to hear about Jerry. We have so many Winnetka neighborhood memories of him. ~ Little League, Indian Guides, Guild One events, church and school activities. We especially remember when Jerry & Rod wore their official lederhosen to a Guild One party. They looked so debonair. Ah - the Good Old Days!!!

We will miss Jerry. He was the patriarch of our extended family. He was our eldest first cousin. We always enjoyed our visits to reminisce about growing up in the Town of Oma.
