Obituary of Lori Ann Jones

Please share a memory of Lori to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sunrise: December 9th, 1963      Sunset: June 9th, 2019

Peacefully at City of Hope in Duarte, CA, Lori Ann Jones passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Lori was born on December 9th, 1963 to Thomas Garland and Mary Jean Jones in Northridge, CA. She was the 4th child born to this union. She grew up in the San Fernando Valley (Canoga Park) attending Limerick Ave School, Lawrence Jr. High and graduating from Chatsworth High School. She went on to marry Tim Kunes and although this union did not last there were two beautiful daughters born to this union. Marissa Nicole Kunes and Hannah Garland Kunes. Her daughters were her world and she was theirs.  Lori was a beautiful, kindhearted soul, beautiful inside and out. Bright and shining light with a gorgeous smile.

In the spring of 2015 Lori was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. She fought this fight with all the courage and strength she had. She wanted to live a long life to see her daughters grow up, graduate, get married and have children of their own. But in beginning of June of 2019 still fighting ovarian cancer she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She vowed to keep fighting but God had other plans. She was tired, in pain and God said she had enough and called her home.

Leaving to mourn Lori's passing are her two daughters Marissa and Hannah, her siblings Gary Jones, Kathleen Jones, and Casey Jones. Her Aunt Barbara Richeson, good friend Roy Shiroma and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lori was predeceased by her parents Thomas G. and Mary J. Jones whom she is now reunited with in heaven.

“Grief never ends … but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith …. It is the price of love.” Oh how you are loved and missed!

Shine forever Lori the Earth will miss you but the stars will be forever grateful.
