Obituary of Peter Winfield Bueschen

Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Winfield Bueschen, announces his passing on June 14, 2019, at the age of 74.  Peter passed peacefully, due to complications of progressive bulbar palsy, with family by his side.

Peter is lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Verna, and his six children, Geoff, Alicia, Maria (Kyle) Brazell, Robert, Philip (Amanda), and Peter Jr., his brother Anton (Norma Jean), his five grandchildren, Kane Brazell, Paxton, Joslynn, Skyla Brazell, and Mackenzie, his nephew Anton Jr., his niece Elaine O’Grady, extended family and dear friends.

Peter was born in Toledo, Ohio to Robert and Mary Bueschen on June 18, 1944. He was a lifelong learner; after completing his BA in Psychology, he continued his education, earning his Masters in Humanities.  Peter valued education and helping others, as evident through his career as a teacher at Simi Valley Adult School, where he taught for over 30 years.

Peter lived a full life and found joy in all things; including art and art history, camping and canoeing, genealogy, technology, visiting libraries and museums, and writing.  Winslow Homer: The Obtuse Bard written by Peter Bueschen was featured in the Smithsonian Library in Washington D.C.  Above all, Peter loved spending time with his family.  He was an active, caring, selfless husband, dad and opa, who loved talking, telling stories, laughing and being with his wife, children, grandchildren and loved ones.

A service in memory of Peter will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 12:00 P.M., at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1 W. Avenida De Los Arboles, Thousand Oaks, with Pastor Erik Goehner officiating.
