Heidi Yesenia Sayegh (nee Zepeda), born July 31, 1978, passed from this life on March 28, 2013. She was born in San Miguel, El Salvador, and came to the United States in January of 1981 at the age of 2 1/2. She went to elementary school in Los Angeles, later moving to Palmdale and graduating from Palmdale High School. Right after graduation, she joined the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Explorer Program, where she developed her desire to become a Sheriff. In 2001, she was thrilled to receive the call that she had been accepted into the Sheriff's Academy. While at the Academy, she met and married Matthew Wheatcroft, with whom she had two children, Isabel and Nolan. After graduating from the Academy, she worked at the Peter Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic. She followed this with more training - this time to become a patrol officer. After completing the training, she was a patrol officer in the Lost Hills station in Malibu. She next trained to become a detective, and her last assignment in the Sheriff's Department was in Santa Clarita. Heidi is survived by her three children, who were the center of her life - Alexandra Celeste (17), Isabel (11), and Nolan (6), as well as her mother, Ana Manzano, siblings Jairo, Marlon, and Julio, and spouse Tony Sayegh. A visitation and viewing will be held for Heidi at the Rose Family Funeral Home, 4444 Cochran Street, Simi Valley on Monday, April 8 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Services will be on Tuesday, April 9 at 10:00 AM at Cornerstone Community Church, 2080 Winifred Street, Simi Valley.
