To Joe,
I'm grateful for the things you have taught and shown me during my teens. I knew you were an avid golfer, I wish I had played golf with you more. Thank you for everything you've done. Rest in peace.

To me he was Uncle Joe, a strong figure who was very loved. He was always the kindest to me. Always a smile at our holiday lunch table. My absolute favorite part about Nonny and Uncle Joe is that I can think out loud around them and they never judge. I’m so thankful we were lucky enough to live close to Uncle Joe and grow up with him around our dining table. Unfortunately I can’t be there tomorrow to put him to rest, but I went to the Salisbury Cathedral in England today to light a candle in his honor. He and those he left behind are in my thoughts and prayers. He, in my heart forever. Xoxoxo

To my Uncle Joe,
I will always deeply cherish the time we spent together. Whether it be Thanksgiving, dinners, birthdays or my personal favorite, when Nonny and I would spontaneously drop by your house just to say hi. Even though you would be a little upset we didn’t call first, you would quickly melt and have the biggest smile on your face when you saw I brought you my homemade oatmeal cookies. You had the ability to always put a smile on my face and will continue to do so whenever I think about you. I will miss your stories, words of encouragement, life lessons, and of course your tenaciousness.
I am extremely grateful that in these past few years we were able to become closer. I learned so much from you and will always cherish the memories I have with you. Thank you for being so unapologetically you.
I will miss you and love you always.

Joe will have a lasting memory in my mind of his smile and quiet-calming demeanor. As my father's sisters' son, he was very special! We loved Joe and he was quite endeared to our family.
Although many of us cannot be at the services, we are sending our sister Diann and her daughters as our ambassadors.
I am sure that he is on one of our angel's wings and hopefully will be waiting at the gates of heaven when it is our time.
Joe will be missed and was loved dearly by our family.

Joe and I lived on the same street in Trinidad Colorado in 1949 and earlier. I can't recall what our age was when we became close friends even though I was five years older than Joe. I do remember fondly that it was our shared love of baseball that reinforced our friendship and that the Yankees were our favorite team.
Our street was not paved but that didn't stop us from throwing and fielding grounders.
In fact, it probably made Joe and I better fielders because of the unexpected bad hops.
But, primarily we played a lot of "catch" with my pitching and Joe catching. I remember that at times we used tennis balls and we each could throw some mean curves. Had we both been closer in age I know we would have given Trinidad High a one-punch that would be remembered.
But, life goes on and Joe and I lost contact in 1949 when I graduated from high school and moved to Nebraska. As fate would have it, our last physical contact was in March 1954 when Joe and I were both on the same bus leaving Colo. Springs headed for Trinidad to see our moms. I was in the Army stationed at Fort Carson and Joe was in the Air Force - I think at the Academy. We shared many memories during that trip. Some years ago, thru the magic of the internet, Joe found me and we remained in regular contact thru that means until Joe's passing. Joe's love for sports continued but now he was into golf while I was into tennis.
Its been a nice long run for our friendship and I am the better for it.
Good bye Joe; we may meet again. Art

For reasons unknown, we were not meant to meet.
But having Jay, Dana and Jeff in my life, is having the very best of you! You will forever be in my heart and my daughter's green eyes will always remind me of my strong Lovato genes. Rest In Peace!
