My sincere condolences to Dan's family..... I'm so sorry for your loss. I just found out today that he had passed and I'm devastated. I worked with Dan for many years and really grew fond of him along the way. Our clerical group really enjoyed his company and help when needed. His upbeat personality, fun facts, and his way of making working there fun.....it was just his way. He always had kind words, always helped, and was a good friend when you needed someone to talk to. I'll never forget him. May he rest in peace.

To the family of Dan. I worked with Dan for many years when I was working in the Valley office. I thoroughly enjoyed years of friendship with Dan and his witty banter. We shared a love for BMWs. Dan was just such a genuine person and a great human being - a good friend. I was so saddened to hear of his passing. Dan was truly "one of the good ones". Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. He will be missed. Sincerely Jeff Bergman

My sincere condolences to the Peterson Family. Dan was a very nice person to work with and always ready to impart knowledge. Anytime I asked how he was doing, his response was “JUST GLORIOUS”, which never ceased to put a smile on my face. May he rest in GLORIOUS peace.

My deepest condolences go out to the Peterson Family. I met Dan in 2001 as a new ESR. He always had a moment to answer a question or give advise to solve a problem. He always made me laugh when I felt like pulling out my hair. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rest in Peace Dan.

It is with great sorrow that I send my deepest condolences to Dan’s wife Kate, his children, and his grandchildren. I worked with Dan for many years at Water and Power. He was a friend and mentor who always supported me when I needed someone to lean on. I always remember how much I enjoyed hearing him speak enthusiastically about his trips to Italy, always looking ahead to his next trip there and the places in Italy he had yet to explore. You will be missed, my friend. May you rest in peace. -Rick Meza

Kate and Peterson family, my deepest condolences go out to you for your loss. I am saddened and stunned to hear of his passing. Dan was such a wonderful co-worker, friend and person. He was such a great person to be around. Always had a great attitude and was one of the most helpful co-workers to work with, or supervise. I was fortunate to not only know him, but to work with him and eventually to become his supervisor. Dan was always an essential asset because of his ability to help others and solve problems. What a team mate! Rest in peace my friend. Jeff Firestone

I first met Dan while I was working as a Meter Setter in the Van Nuys District. He was the go to guy if there was a problem with the job. I rarely brought positive news but he always had a genuine smile and was happy to help. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Thanks for all of your help Dan.

My deepest condolences to Dan's wife Kate and his children and grandchildren. I worked with Dan for 18 years and saw him almost every weekday. He was always kind, calm and level headed. He was a born leader and set a great example to pattern ourselves after. I am really saddened by the passing of my friend and colleague.

I heard the news today that Dan has passed away. I am stunned and saddened to hear of his passing. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends. I have known Dan since 1999 when I joined the ESR ranks at his office in Van Nuys. We hit it off straight away because of our shared love of motorcycling. Dan also has the same birthday as my brother, so it was easy for me to remember. Dan was always generous with his sage advice to the newbies in the group. He was particularly deft at handling contractors that were less than skilled or not very truthful on the state of their projects. I was just thinking of him in June when I attended the 40th reunion of the Hopetown motorcycle races in Simi Valley. I will always treasure our time working together. Rest in peace my friend. Enjoy your new ride in heaven. Bill Punches
