Obituary of Mark Hartline

Mark Alton Hartline, age 40 of Simi Valley, California passed away peacefully at home on August 23rd, 2013 with his wife Paula, daughter Kelsey and son Colton by his side after battling Pancreatic Cancer. Mark was born on July 20th, 1973 in Van Nuys California. The youngest child of Paul and Nadine Hartline. Mark grew up in Simi Valley with his three siblings, Julie, David and Christine. Mark graduated from Simi Valley High School in 1991. He later went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration- Management Information Systems from California State University Northridge in 1999. Mark worked at Countrywide and then Bank of America as an IT Project Manager for 17 years making many friendships and gaining the appreciation and respect of his co-workers. Prior to that Mark worked at Mervyns where he made lasting friendships and acquired his love of shoes. Mark loved computers (having 5 of them currently), cool gadgets, video games, Legos and anything old school Star Wars. Most of all though Mark loved his family and friends. Always having time for a kind word, being silly or helping someone either with words of encouragement, understanding or just being there to listen. When Mark learned that his sister Christine was facing her battle against cancer, Mark did not hesitate to sell his home in Texas and move back to California to be closer to her and his family that he loved so dearly. Mark will be remembered with love by his family: Wife Paula Hartline, Daughter Kelsey Dunn, Son Colton Dunn, Parents Paul Hartline and Nadine Hartline, Sister Julie Sepe, Brother David Hartline, Nephews Justin Kleinsmith, Devon Kleinsmith and Ryan Hartline. Mother in-law Sandy Krause, Sister In-law Melanie Roberts, Brother's in-law Carlo Sepe, Kevin Grold, Michael Roberts and Kevin Kleinsmith, and his puppy Bear Hartline. Mark was preceded in death in 2012 by his beloved sister Christine Hartline. A memorial service celebrating Mark's life will be held on Saturday September 7th at 2:00 P.M at Rose Family Funeral Home (4444 Cochran Street, Simi Valley California 93063). A reception will immediately follow the service at Mark and Paula's residence located at 1748 Chaps Court Simi Valley. Thank you to Dr. Shahryar Ashouri and his wonderful team for taking such good care of Mark, to all the Oncology nurses and staff at Los Robles Hospital and to Buena Vista Hospice for their care, love and compassion for Mark and his family.
