I'm at loss for words and completely saddened, I was Steve's caregiver for 3 yrs. We shared many good moments , our talks, walks, lunches, Reagan library trips, we loved our Tuesday Indian lunches. He joined me to my son's school performances, he sat and enjoyed every minute of it which brought joy to me, what person shows interest in another's child, Steve did. We were friends, and he was a friend to all. He loved this country and very patriotic. I enjoyed spending holidays with him, he was always very giving with me. When I would visit him at the senior home he would greet me with the biggest smile and call my name Mari!!!! There is so much more I want to say, I will never forget him, May he rest in peace.

Met Steve at the Reagan Library back in 2003. We were both volunteers. Got to know him better, over the years, and him and I were one of 8 docents, that went back to Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio, in 2010. Spent 5 days with these guys, and got to know them pretty good. On the 5 hour flight back, we sat together, and he told me all about his family. He loved them all dearly.
My wife and I would take walks in the evening, and we would stop at the tennis courts and see Steve and Mike playing tennis.
We would stop and talk with them, before heading home. He will be missed !

I was lucky to spend every year with uncle Steve, visiting from Canada with my family. He was happy to some activities such hiking or playing tennis with us. He also enjoyed cooking together. My son (his extended grandson) is still talking about his legendary pancakes he made for him.
Uncle has a very special place in our hearts for his kind spirit. We miss you dearly uncle/opa Steve.

I remember Steve well from my years of service as a docent at the Reagan Library. I don't recall that we served on the same shift, but I was a long-time board member and got to know most docents. He was a true gentleman, always kind and with goodwill for others. Even after I left for family reasons, he always remembered me when we met occasionally at special events or dinners. His greeting was always one as a warm, dear friend. He was an example to many. God bless him as he joins his dear ones.
