Obituary of Stella Marie Ulloa

Stella Marie Ulloa, 83, of Simi Valley, California, passed away on July 8, 2023 in Simi Valley.

Stella was born on September 4, 1939 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Ricardo Montes and Maria Montoya Montes.  She graduated from Citrus High School in Glendora, California and lived in the Azusa area during her youth.  Stella worked for many years at General Dynamics in Pomona, rising to the position of Chemical Analyst.  Stella won several awards for innovative technical suggestions during her time in the defense industry. Upon the birth of her first grandchild, Stella relocated to Orange County, where she worked in the Superior Court system as a clerk in the juvenile courts.

Stella was married for 55 years to her husband, Ed Ulloa, who preceded her in death in 2015.  Her husband was active in youth and high school sports for decades, and Stella was always visibly present and supportive as a team mother organizing countless snack bar crews and cheerleader outings.

Stella is survived by her son, Edward (Tatum) and her step-children Dr. John Ulloa (Catherine) and Denise Fowler (Don), her sister Lugi Serna and brother Richard Montes (Rose).  She is also survived by ten grand-children, six great grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Lucy and Robert, husband Ed and children Michael Ulloa and Darlene Kersten.

Funeral service will be held at St. Peter Claver’s Catholic Church in Simi Valley on Friday July 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery at 1380 Fitzgerald Ave., Simi Valley CA 93065.  Rose Family Funeral Home of Simi Vally will be handling funeral arrangements.
