Obituary of Antonio Giovanni Fucci

Antonio Giovanni Fucci, 92, of Santa Rosa Valley, CA, passed away on December 19, 2023, in Thousand Oaks.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Paschal Baylon, in Thousand Oaks, on Wednesday, January 24, at 10:30 AM. with Fr. John officiating. The following day, the burial will be at Riverside National Cemetery at 12:15 PM.

Antonio was born in Hamden, CT to Angelo and Elisabetta Marzilli Fucci on October 28, 1931. He joined the Air Force as a teenager and served during the Korean War. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in engineering in 1963 from New Haven University and a master's degree in 1970 from UCLA. 

He worked in the Aerospace industry most of his life and is in the Who's Who in Aviation and Aerospace for his service and inventions.  Among Antonio's many accomplishments he was in charge of the team that built the Lunar Lander for the Apollo missions. Later in his career he developed the mission control protocol for the launching of spy satellites.

Antonio was a master woodworker and loved to bring the beauty of wood to life with his creations. He also enjoyed dancing with numerous friends whenever he could.

He was a strong advocate for educating the public on the Korean War.

Antonio is survived by his sisters, Anna Mancini and Gloria Coppola, and brother John Fucci. Children, Catherine Marzilli, Deborah Marzilli, David Fucci, Pamela Fucci-Martinez, Carolyn Johnson and Kevin Fucci. Grandchildren, David Fernandez, Kalan Murphy, Ryan Johnson, Alisha Brown, Antonio Fucci, KellyAnne Judd, Ashley Martinez, Blake Johnson, Kevin I. Fucci, Shane Johnson and Kelsie Fucci-Lockwitz. Great Grandchildren, Alilah Fernandez, Landon Fucci, Audrey Murphy, Aislyn Murphy, Evie Murphy, Lila Murphy, Olivia Johnson, Lillian Brown, Nora Johnson and Orion Fernandez. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Antonio is preceded in death by his son, Douglas Fucci. Sisters, Mary Kusiak and Julia McDonald. Parents Angelo and Elisabetta Fucci.
