Obituary of Maria De Jesus Cervantes
Maria de Jesús Cervantes, age 100, passed away peacefully in Thousand Oaks, California on September 21, 2024. Born in San Cristobal Zapotitlan, Jalisco, Mexico, Jesus, or “Chuy” as she was affectionately called by so many, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jose, her children Joaquin Cervantes, Maria Elena Cervantes, Eva Hickok, Maria Cruz Madrigal, Jose Luis Cervantes, and Isaias Cervantes as well as her 29 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Maria de Jesús was known for her unwavering faith, her dedication to her family, and her warm, nurturing spirit. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Rose Family Funeral Home Chapel in Simi Valley, California. A Rosary will be recited in Spanish at 6:00 pm. The Funeral Mass, in Spanish, will take place on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Simi Valley. Maria will be interred in her hometown of San Cristobal Zapotitlan, Mexico.
Maria de Jesús will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
María de Jesús Cervantes, de 100 años, falleció pacíficamente en Thousand Oaks, California, el 21 de septiembre de 2024. Nacida en San Cristobal Zapotitlan, Jalisco, México, Jesús, o “Chuy” como la llamaban cariñosamente muchos, fue una amada esposa, madre, abuela, bisabuela y tatarabuela. Le sobreviven su devoto esposo, José, sus hijos Joaquín Cervantes, María Elena Cervantes, Eva Hickok, Maria Cruz Madrigal, José Luis Cervantes e Isaías Cervantes, así como sus 29 nietos, 28 bisnietos y 6 tataranietos.
María de Jesús era conocida por su fe inquebrantable, su dedicación a su familia y su espíritu cálido y acogedor. Tocó la vida de muchos con su amabilidad y generosidad. Su legado de amor y compasión continuará inspirando a todos los que la conocieron.
Se llevará a cabo una velación el sábado 5 de octubre de 2024, de 5:00 a 9:00 pm en la Capilla de la Funeraria Rose Family en Simi Valley, California. Se rezará un rosario en español a las 6:00 pm. La misa fúnebre, en español, tendrá lugar el viernes 11 de octubre de 2024, a las 10:00 am en la Iglesia Católica St. Peter Claver en Simi Valley. María será enterrada en su ciudad natal de San Cristóbal Zapotitlán, México.
Maria de Jesús será profundamente recordada por su familia, amigos y todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.
