Obituary of Angeline Gayle Nikkinen

Angeline Gayle Nikkinen was born on June 29th 1947 in Vallejo, CA to Vannah and Catherine Bolton. She was the second oldest of 6 children, Carla Biely, Vannah (Buster) Bolton, Cathy Morgan, Trisha Daniels, and Pam Keefer. Angie was the member of a Military family, her father Van was in the US Air Force for 20 years. She spent her early years in Fairfield, CA then moved to Merced, CA. In 1963 she spent 2 years on the island of Okinawa in Japan. In 1965 she came to Vandenberg Air Force Base and graduated from Lompoc High. She met a young airman while at Vandenberg named Donald Nikkinen originally from Hancock, MI, and they were married on November 4th, 1967. They had two daughters, Karen Moisant in January 1970 and Karla Fagan in November 1973. They have 5 Grandchildren, Leandra, Brianna, Blake, Brady and Brennan. Angie and family lived in the San Fernando Valley and then moved to Simi Valley, CA where they spent the last 27 years. Angie spent 29 years working for the Los Angeles Unified School District and retired in 2004. She was well respected and well loved by all that she knew. Angeline passed peacefully on April 9th, 2015 at the age of 67 surrounded by her family after a long battle with heart disease. She is survived by her mother, 5 siblings, her husband of 47 years, her daughters, and her grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 25th at 1:00 at the New Heart Foursquare Church, 4200 Township Ave. Simi Valley, CA. Pastor John Cox will be leading a celebration of her life and a reception will follow at the Church.
