Obituary of Bill Sanford Stroub JR.

Willis S. Stroub, Jr. Willis (Bill) S. Stroub, Jr. ,89, of Simi Valley, CA passed away into the arms of Jesus at the Simi Valley Hospital on June 16, 2015 with his two favorite girls, his wife and daughter by his side. Bill was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 6, 1926 to Helen Shafer Stroub and Willis S. Stroub, Sr. They also had another son, Ray. His mother died at a young age and his dad remarried her sister, Hazel. The family moved to California when Bill was 9. Bill served in the United States Army during World War II in the Philippines and then as part of the Japanese occupation. He loved electronics and worked in management at Northrop for over 35 years on various projects. Bill loved the Lord and felt blessed to be part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The passion of his life was music. He played professional guitar in small groups, big bands including with the Stan Kenton orchestra, jazz guitar and at church. His other loves were of course his family, traveling and his menagerie of animals including his horses. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 40 years, Rebecca (Becky), his daughter Dawn Charman (husband Howard), his grandsons Adam and Eric Guzman, adopted children Anita Butler and John Stroub, as well as, 4 more grandchildren,12 great grandchildren and 3 newly discovered nephews, John Lock, David Ervin, Mac Brown and one niece, Susan Morris. His brother Ray and his son Bill III, both died tragically in their 30’s. A Service of Remembrance was held at the Simi Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church on Saturday, June 20, 2015. Bill was interned at Rose Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo, Ca. on June 22, 2015. He was loved by all his friends and family and his death has left a huge hole in our hearts, but we know we will all be together, forever, someday.
