Obituary of William Allen Levine

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On the morning of March 12, 2016, Bill Levine passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer while lovingly surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. Bill was born on December 23, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA. He was the oldest son of Zachary Levine and Jean (Zebrack) Levine. He married the love of his life, Hazel Jeanne Hough, on November 27, 1971 and they spent the next 44 beautiful years by each other’s side. In 1981, Bill and Hazel moved to their home in the Bridle Path community of Simi Valley, CA where they raised their family and have remained ever since. Blessed with a sharp intellect, Bill was a graduate of the University of Arizona Pharmacy School and worked a distinguished 40 year career as a pharmacist at local Clark Drugs, CVS and Vons pharmacies. Bill was a consummate professional and a friend and mentor to all who had the honor of working with him. Having such a bright and curious mind, Bill was known for having a diversity of hobbies and academic interests. He was an avid gardener, lover of classical music, L.A. Dodger fan and a life-long stamp collecting enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time in nature, particularly fishing and camping in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Throughout his life, Bill delighted in vacationing with his family on their annual Lake Tahoe RV trips as well as their frequent visits to Maui and their cabin in Pine Mountain Club. Above all, he treasured most the simple things in life…a back yard BBQ with his family, swimming with his grandchildren, and the joys of laughter and good conversation with friends near a campfire. Bill Levine was a Christian and a true gentleman in every sense of the word. His legacy of generosity, humility and kindness has left a lasting influence on everyone who was touched by his life. Along with his wife, he is survived by four children, Shanda Gabriel & husband James, Todd Levine & wife Brandie, Darlynn Roscoe & husband James, and Crystal Provenzano & husband Dan. He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren, Dustin Levine, Morgan Levine, Mathew Levine, Bradley Roscoe, Alyssa Roscoe, Isabella Provenzano, Emma Provenzano, Makayla Provenzano, and Audrina Provenzano. He also leaves behind a brother, Robert Levine of Woodland Hills, CA
