I am so sorry to just learn of the passing of Randy. I knew him in the early 1970s when Jim Hanna and I lived in the guest house at his Tarzana home. I remember him for having a warm smile, an easy laugh and a big heart. Sincere sympathy to his family from Marilyn Manchester

Randy was a True Brother and Dear Friend, Loved Playing Pranks on the Paramedics Coming into the Garage, Where he would Service the Ambulances and say “I pulled the Speedometer Tape, They Want You in the Office for Exceeding 90mph on some Responses”........ He was Always Jovial and fun to be around no matter what the circumstances.
May He Go Rest High On That Mountain.

I just learned of the tragic loss of my dear longtime friend, Randy. I knew him since 1967 when I was 14 years old. I took many rides in his beautiful "Black Pearl." I have so many memories of happy times spent with Randy over the decades. I'm brokenhearted. Rest in paradise, my friend.

A true friend, a brother to dozens of paramedics and a genuine kindred soul. I will miss you Randy. Your smile, your wit and your dedication to friends and family. A wonderful friendship with an exceptional guy that lasted 40 years. So honored to have known you and one of a few people that I could call a true friend.

Dear Lois and his children,
I am very sorry to learn of Rand being killed by a DUI driver. I was his neighbor of years on Tampa as kids. He was a great friend and person. He helped me some many times with cars and fixing up my GTO to beat a 396 chevelle. It is so very sad to hear of his passing when he was still young and healthy.
Loving wishes,
John (neighbor at 5325 Tampa Avenue)
Sorry for the late response but I just learned from my mom that he was killed and tried for a week to get Lois' address to send a card and flowers. The funeral home would not give out information and not send flowers so I am doing all I can do!

Be strong and carry on his legacy with honor, even as he is already missed and we are left with the precious memories
God bless you all.

My deepest condolences to Rand's family. Rand was a great friend of mine since we were children in school....We first met at Bethel and later were friends at Ridgewood Military Academy and Taft High School....We would often spend time together... and I knew that I could count on him for anything and vice versa. We grew up together....from bicycles, motorcycles, and cars to double dating in High School. He would often stop by to see me at my parent's home....and if I was not there, he would entertain my parents with his humorous stories. My parents considered him part of our family. Whenever, I visited California, a visit to see Rand was always on the agenda.
A mutual friend sent me an email with the sad news. Unfortunately, due to a recent illness, I did not see the email until after the funeral services. Otherwise, I would have attended the services in tribute to the loss of a great friend and in support to his family.
With a heavy heart and with great love,
Steven Rose

Never got to know Rand to well even though we have had the pleasure of the same mutual friends. He did visit our camp site at Emma Woods during an outing with mutual friends during a Memorial Day Week End. The Accident happened approximately 1/2 mile from our home. RIP.

I met Randy when I was 16. He was in the Coachmen car club and hung out at Reseda park. I remember when Bush Gardens was here and he and his friends "acquired" some birds from there.....I remember him putting the blue metal flake steering wheel on my 63' Chevy in his parents back yard. We were good friends for decades, always kept in touch somehow. When he'd call, I would answer, he's say..."wanna fool around?" I knew immediately who it was. I always had an excuse. But the couple of times I answered "sure"....he's say "Uh-oh"...and laugh.... we laughed a lot. Both my parents adored him. He had nick names for all his girl "friends".... I was his little "Hippie Chick". I will miss my friend so much. I am able to attend the service but nothing afterward and I am sorry for that. I would love love love nothing more than to spend time with so many people that my friend loved so much.
God bless you and yours, he's ridin' up there, Horses or Harleys, he's doin' his thing. We have to do ours without him till we meet again.

It was great to have you for my friend for over forty years. We shared many good times and lots of laughs. You were always there for me when I was at my worst and I will never forget that. I will genuinely miss you. I just took it for granted that you would always be here, its hard for me to believe that you are gone but I will see you again. Love ya Rand.

I am honored and blessed to have known Rand . . . Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some move our souls to dance in the moonlight! They awaken us to new understandings with a passing whisper of their wisdom. Some make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leaving footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same. Thank you Rand for being that kind of person! You had such an impact on my life when I was going through chemotherapy. Every time you saw me at school picking up the kids you would wink and smile and say "Hi Beautiful!" Pretty sure you had no idea how that made my day! Only someone with a special heart would take the time to even care, but you did! Until we meet again my friend . . . To Melinda, Cherry and Garrett, hoping your treasured memories bring you comfort day by day. May the Lord comfort your hearts as only He can do. Hugs to you all . . .

My husband Randy and I send our deepest condolences to the Brooks Family and to all his far reaching friends that loved him like a brother. We, as everyone else, deeply mourn the loss of "Randy" and, his untimely passing has broken everyone's heart.
To Rand's children, he was extremely proud of you and your accomplishments and being Grandpa meant the world to him. He did what brought him fulfillment throughout his life, had always the best of intentions, he made no excuses. He honored his friendships with a deep and trusting loyalty. Even during the toughest of times he was able to lighten it with a smile or laugh. We have a lifetime of memories to treasure having known "Randy". A true gentleman in every sense of the word.
Continue to enjoy the long rides and rest peacefully Randy.

A very caring man, I'll miss him on Facebook.
