Obituary of Ellen Watson McIntosh

Ellen Watson McIntosh, 75, of Simi Valley, CA, passed away on December 10, 2016 at home. Funeral services will be held at the Santa Susana Wood's Club House, located at 6480 Katherine Road, Simi Valley, CA 93063, on Saturday, December 17th at 12:00 with Reverend Gary Dickey officiating. Ellen was born in Scotland to James Highlands and Katherine McShane on November 13, 1941. She went to high school in Glasgow and after marrying Alex and having three children, the young family moved to Pasadena in 1968. In 1971 their fourth child was born and the family moved to Simi Valley where they decided to raise their children. She worked as a Manager for Marshall's for ten years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, poker tournaments, traveling with her husband, and watching her favorite comedies on TV. Ellen is survived by her Husband, Alex McIntosh of Simi Valley; daughters Catherine, Michelle, Amanda; Sister, Martha (James) Miller of Pasadena, CA; Sister Kathy (Ian) Curry of Toronto, Canada; Grandchildren Danielle, Shaun, Cody, Ashley, Scotty, Chad, Paige, Mackenna; and Great-Grandchildren Scotlynn, Jayde and one more on the way! She is preceded in death by her Son, Alex Jr; brother, Matt Highlands of Glasgow; mother, Catherine "Cissy" Highlands and father James Highlands of Glasgow. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Kaiser Hospice for their support during Ellen's last few days. To Kathy McKenzie, and all our Scottish friends plus Ellen's bingo buddies, you are forever in our hearts.
