Mr. Foster was my Speech and Debate coach. He was a truly amazing person. After High School, I spent time with him going to Los Angeles and talking about politics. I just learned he passed. I regret I didn't track him down when I came back to the area for law school just before he passed. I'll have to see him on the other side. Miss you Sir! - Greg

Mr. Foster was truly a dedicated teacher, whose good nature and kindness radiated each day. He was one of my favorite teachers in the subjects I most loved, AP History and Government. I often would spend extra time after school talking to him about politics and knew there was a wealth of knowledge and experience that an hour of class couldn't tap.
I remember early in my senior year asking him if we would write several letters of recommendation for college. There were a lot, and he did so with a "JOSE, oh my God!" smile on his face. His strong letter no doubt helped me get accepted to Harvard. When I returned to Simi during breaks I met with Mr. Foster several times for lunch or a meal, so we could catch up. We talked about Thucydides, and politics. I just learned from a fellow classmate that he passed away; I'm so sorry that I couldn't attend his service.
He was a dedicated teacher, but more important a great human being. He will be missed & he will be remembered. Thank you Mr. Foster for all your dedication, for all your patience putting up with mischievous students---all the while keeping your smile and radiance. God Bless you and those most dear to you. With highest respect, your student. Royal High School Class of 1988.

Mr. Foster was my teacher, my colleague and my friend. He taught me in US History and US Government in the early 80's. I will always remember his warm nature and sense of humor. One of my fondest memories is going to see the movie Malcolm X with him in the early 90's after school one day. My condolences to the family of a Royal High School original. He will be missed.

Mr. Foster, I've know you since I was around 5 years old. My mom and dad; Murray and Corine Cutten, my other family members; Joy Fuller, and of course my sister Ellen. Now there is one left of the group. I thank you for being so kind to me over the years, especially when you , Jennifer Short, and Don Funk took time out to attend my mothers' home going.
I was thinking of you on Thursday, remembering a particular question on a test in history class that was only for the class I had with you. I just started to laugh. I'm going to think that at that time of my thought, Mike Reisig, Don Funk, and Phil Stephens were welcoming you at the gates of Heaven. Your friends and family who have gone before you are there to guide you through THE GLORIOUS GATES. I will often think of you and all of the teachers and friends who helped guide and shape me into the person I am today.
Thank You
GOD BLESS YOU
Karen Cutten
