Obituary of Jill M. Ludwig

Please share a memory of Jill to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jill McNiff Ludwig, 83, of Virginia, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2017 at home in Simi Valley, California. Jill left this world resting in the arms that held and protected her for her entire adult life, her husband, and surrounded by those who loved her most. Jill was born in Virginia, Minnesota to Richard “Dick” and Fern (Shaver) McNiff on August 18, 1933. She graduated from Virginia Senior High in 1951. She went on to earn a degree from the College of Dupage in Chicago. On May 8, 1954 Jill married the love of her life, Raymond J “Jack” Ludwig, and began a grand life together, living in several cities, and traveling to more, winding up in California close to their three girls, and always busy. Jill is survived by her husband Jack, of Brainerd, Minnesota; her daughters: Kim Ludwig, Cheryl McPherson, and Susan Ludwig; her 3 grandchildren: Alex, Colin, and Brenna McPherson; extended family, and many, many friends. We are so grateful to have had her in our lives for so many years. As Mom once stated, she was in perfect health until age 79. Then, unfortunately, she was diagnosed with an extremely rare and severe form of Parkinson's called Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA) for which there is no treatment or cure. She faced each obstacle with her usual grace and strength, and maintained her dignity and humor under the greatest of challenges. Of course, Dad was there every step of the way, as he always has been for the past 66 years. Mom and Dad have always been so much a part of our everyday lives, and there have been so, so many events and adventures along the way. She was always first in, and a key part of the planning for family or friends. She still had a twinkle in her eye and looked fabulous as usual until she left us. She will be remembered by her family and those held dear to her as the best Mom and friend, and our Dad's whole world. Their love for each other through their journey together was always radiant. She will also be remembered for her beauty, style, grace, wit, generosity, sense of adventure and zest for life. Our family wishes to express their gratitude for all of your many thoughts and prayers. We are posting this website for any and all who want to share memories, pictures or thoughts in her honor. A celebration of life service is being planned for February, 2017.
