Obituary of Delbert Clifford Moniz

Delbert Clifford "Butch" Moniz,  72, of  Thousand Oaks, California, passed away on April 22,2017, in Reseda, California.

Funeral Service will be held at the Rose Family Funeral Home Chapel, located at 4444 Cochran St., Simi Valley,Ca, 93063 on May 13, 2017 at 11:00am with Deacon Melecio Zamora of St. Peter Claver Church officiating.

Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery, located at 1380 Fitzgerald Rd., Simi Valley, California 93065.

Butch was born in Hilo, Hawaii, to Rita Marie Moniz  on January 14th 1945.  He attended High School at Hilo High and graduated in 1963. He went on to enlist in the United States Air Force. Trained as an Aircraft Mechanic, he served as Crew Chief for the 319 Air Commando Squad. After release from active duty he worked in the Aircraft Industry for several years, until taking a new career path with Ralphs Grocery Company, which lasted 30 years. 

He enjoyed anything aircraft, automotive or motorcycle related. Loved swimming, Judo,surfing, camping and traveling.

Butch is survived by his wife of 30 years, Aileen Moniz of Thousand Oaks, California, his eldest daughter Cherie Moniz of Hollywood, California, daughter Danelle Cagle of Fort Worth, Texas, step daughter Claire Moniz of Thousand Oaks, California, step son John Sutton of Thousand Oaks, California, step son Dan Moniz of Thousand Oaks, California, grandson Jack Cagle of Fort Worth, Texas, step grandson Alex Amaro of Thousand Oaks, California, step granddaughter Gabrielle Amaro of Thousand Oaks, California, step granddaughter Madison Sutton of Bakersfield, California, step grandson Zane Sutton of Bakersfield, California. 

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Rita Marie Roach and step father John Roach.
